The UVA Center for Politics in partnership with Legacy Productions presents "The Legacy of Black Wall Street", an evening of events surrounding the documentary directed by Deborah Riley Draper. The film tracks the rise of Black Wall Street in Oklahoma, up until the 1921 Tulsa race massacre. This commemorative documentary shifts the narrative from the massacre itself to amplify the voices of the Black pioneers.
