In July of 2012, Brad Savage introduced Michael Coleman and his band at Fridays After 5 as "Michael Coleman Band". Since then the Michael Coleman Band has played many local shows and also begun to tour up and down the East Coast.
From a set at the McIntire 4th of July to opening for national acts like Ben Taylor (son of James Taylor), the band has developed a sound of their own. Combining soulful sweeping vocal melodies complex rhythmic musical figures Michael Coleman Band brings a refreshingly energetic sound to the Charlottesville music scene.
